Class Overview
Dear Students,
Welcome to B215, "Ceramic Techniques for All (“CTA.”) We hope you can join us this Fall in Room 202, Arsht Hall. Wednesday CTA classes (B215) are from 9:00am to 11:45am followed by CTA's Wednesday Workshop (B324) from 1:00pm to 3:45pm, September 8 to December 11, 2026. For advanced students we have workshops on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Our $40 materials fee is payable to the instructors on the first day of class. Clay, firing and all other materials used are provided by the instructors. Students are not permitted to use any materials from other sources.
While our kiln studio is under renovation, "CREATIVE FUN WITH CLAY" (B218) and "Creative Fun With Clay Workshop (B322)" led by Joe Germano, Svetlana Lisanti and Lynne Seligman, will be held in room 202 on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings respectively.
Our mission is to provide instruction and support services enabling students to successfully learn and advance their knowledge and use of ceramic art techniques. All students receive individualized coaching and instruction. Experienced students receive individualized instruction as needed to support working at their own pace. We work with each student to provide help and support to achieve successful completion of individual projects as well as other projects we may recommend.
This web site is used to present surveys of ceramics/pottery methods, practices and procedures. Some ceramics techniques in use today were first used by ancients. However, most of today's techniques are based on modern methods. Achieving our course objectives is based on learning by doing. Click HERE for our course syllabus.
